OVERVIEW

This attractive 2-bedroom, 1.5-bath open concept country home gently rests along the Narrows of Hans Creek.  Nestled in the Hans Creek Valley off of Hans Creek Road, neighbored by farmland held by the same family for over 200 years sits this private, secluded yet easily accessible jewel.  The private road splits open fields of grassland and leads to the home along the creek where organic gardening is in keeping with the natural surroundings.  Ample storage for firewood/tools and one car is provided by a 720 sq.ft. carriage house.

This home was remodeled in 2009 to include finished cherry flooring on the second floor, new kitchen design and appliances, tiled bathroom floors, crawlspace foam insulation, local field stonework behind the Jotul woodstove, reverse osmosis water filtration system, Whirlpool electric water heater (30 gallon), two MinkaAire traditional gyro ceiling fans, one in the kitchen/dining area and the second at the landing at the top of the stairs on the second floor.  These units oscillate and provide maximum airflow throughout the house in addition to the well placed windows, reducing the need for air conditioning, however, a Fijitsu mini-split wall mounted heating and cooling system is located in the living room for additional cooling via Mother Nature.

The stairs were completed in 2009 to include unique newel posts of local and antique woods.

The kitchen features an island with barn wood and black walnut chopping block, stainless steel double sink, and Jenn-Air appliances: a gas range with convection oven feature, and refrigerator-freezer.  There is a breakfast area in the kitchen in addition to the dining room adjacent to the kitchen.  An exit from the breakfast nook leads to a large outside multilevel deck that provides seating overlooking the creek.

The ceiling in the kitchen/dining/sunroom area includes large oak beams with a nautical theme rope trim and tongue-n-groove pine boards ceiling with a clear finish.

The Frigidaire laundry center, stacked washer and dryer, is conveniently located in the first floor half bath.

Bedrooms are located on the second floor via the oak staircase.  The master bedroom has a walk-in closet, cherry flooring, vaulted ceilings and strategically placed windows that provide tree house-type views.  The master bath is accessed by the hallway and has tiled floors, a separate shower and soaking clawfoot tub.  The second bedroom also has cherry flooring with well placed windows that when opened provide a soothing sound of the creek and cool breeze.

The property borders the Ellison Farm, one of the many farms in the Hans Creek Valley.
